It's the end of an era in our family: Sydney is done with pre-school and ready for the long summer leading up to full-time school. It seems not very long ago that I was wrestling with the decision to send her to Miss Jean's class and now here we are at the end of her time there.
We made the day a celebration and Sydney requested French toast (her new favorite) for breakfast and we went to the new cupcake & frozen yogurt place in town for our post-school celebration.
I'm so proud of all she's learned: to share, to be flexible, to listen to another adult, to stand in a line, to go potty in a public(ish) restroom solo, to write her letters and sing songs in a circle, to convince boys it's fun to play princess every now and again and to stand up for herself in tough situations without mom nearby.
Today is kindergarten registration. How is it possible that my wee girl is really setting out on her own on a daily basis this fall? I am now completely supportive of the super-short kindergarten schedule here!
